Saturday, May 7, 1-4pm, All Ages, Teen Room: Celebrate Free Comic Book Day at the Pontiac Public Library. Every person is limited to 3 free comics, but we have other ways for the family to celebrate. Kids can get their face painted to look like their favorite superhero and local artists are selling merchandise you can purchase.
Saturday, 05/07, 1-5pm, Main floor of the Library: Come to our library to celebrate Cinco De Mayo. We will have a dancing and singing group, a bingo game, free comic books, face painting, an essay contest, and food. Please, call the library main number, 248-758-3942, for more information. The event is for both youth and teen kids!
Saturday, 05/21, 2-3pm, Auditorium: Social Media Monetization is about shifting our culture from followers to leaders through capitalizing on our existing skills. This seminar is all about how to make money using social media. Take advantage of the opportunity to become your own boss. For ages 11-17!
Saturday, 06/18 through Saturday, 08/20, Beanstack and Library: Middle and high school students are welcome to sign up for our annual summer reading challenge. Students are challenged to record their reading during the summer with the goal of reading for 1,000 minutes during the summer.
We will award five prizes for every 200 minutes read and you will earn five raffle tickets to enter into the drawing of your choice after meeting the 1,000 minute goal.
If you write book reviews after each book, you can gain extra raffle tickets to enter into the drawing of your choice. You can only earn a total of five extra raffle tickets. Any reviews after the 5th are just for fun.

Mondays, 07/11, 07/18, 07/25, 08/01, 08/08, 4:30-5:30pm and Saturday 04/09, 1-3pm, Auditorium: Young men and young women between the ages of 8 and 19 are invited to attend a free sewing workshop at the Pontiac Public Library. Come learn this valuable skill over the course of five classes from skilled instructor Kathy Henderson.
Wednesday, 07/13, 8am-3pm, Bus to Detroit: Join the Pontiac Public library on our annual trip to attend Metro Detroit Youth Day in Belle Isle Park. A bus will be provided to take participants from the Library to Belle Isle. The bus will depart from the Library at 8am and will depart from Belle Isle at 2:30pm. 50 children is the limit!
IMPORTANT: You must fill out a registration form, signed and completed by your parent(s) or legal guardian and return it to the Pontiac Public Library or you will not be able to participate. Ages 8-15! No Children Under Age 8 Are Permitted To Participate!

Saturday, 07/30, 3-4:30pm, Auditorium: Join us for a Nerf Gun Fight at the Pontiac Public Library. Participants will be split into two groups with the last team standing the victor. The Pontiac Public Library has a limited number of Nerf Guns and bullets to provide to players, so we encourage you to bring your own Nerf weapons if you own them. Ages 11-17!
Saturday, 08/27, 12-2pm, Main floor of the Library: Come to the Pontiac Public Library’s End of Summer Reading Celebration. We will be giving out the drawing prizes for summer reading and you must be present in order to win. There will also be food, games, and so much more. All ages!
